Middleton Place
The Home Depot team recently completed a photo shoot in the beautiful, historic Middleton Place in Charleston, SC. It was a cold November day, and we were shooting outdoor patio furniture for the Spring Style Guide…so our creative minds were really trying to get into “warm weather mode”.
Middleton Place had the most beautiful scenery. There was the most dreamy haze surrounding the Spanish moss, an awesome barn and stables completely untouched by time, and the most beautiful, historical architecture that took our breath away. You could just feel the history there.
We found the perfect, cozy cobblestone courtyard for us to set up our “spring tea party” themed outdoor dining set.
And tucked away, near the back of the property, we found the perfect, cozy cobblestone courtyard for us to set up our “spring tea party” themed outdoor dining set. Also, the perfect spot for the “flower tower”. This is a great Spring “how-to” project for DIY homeowners wanting to liven up their patio with some color, but there’s a reason that this is a Spring time project….(aside from the flowers being in bloom). It’s so your fingers aren’t taken by frost bite! Good thing we came prepared with gloves to share, because apparently Charleston is not in the 70s year round.
We also had the good fortune of meeting some new friends during our time at Middleton Place. The resident sheep herd came by often to say “hi”, but we think their motives were secretly to eat the petunias that we were using for the shoot. Many animals came by to grace us with their presence, which was awesome. It was kind of funny to be completely “in the zone” preparing for a shot, and then coming back to reality to be surrounded by sheep. Never a dull moment when we are on location. And the Clydesdales…love them! Maybe next time a horse drawn carriage ride? Oh, and the photography turned out beautiful, as always.
