Paris
Recently, a few lucky members of our Interior Design staff went to Paris to attend Maison et Objet, an international show that features trends and the latest designs in all items related to interior design. The show is huge: it’s spread across several buildings in an exhibition center about 45 minutes north of Paris.
We had lots of opportunities to explore the city, see the sights and eat the fantastic food! We did all the usual: la Tour Eiffel (at sunset!), Notre-Dame, Cathédrale Saint-Chapelle.
Alderman was so generous to spring for a few extra days in Paris, so we had lots of opportunities to explore the city, see the sights and eat the fantastic food! We did all the usual: la Tour Eiffel (at sunset!), Notre-Dame, Cathédrale Saint-Chapelle (largest collection of stained glass in the world) and we walked along the river (where we, of course, had to buy street scene paintings from a local artist). We spent a morning before going to the show at the famous St-Ouen flea market. So inspiring, but mainly consisted of just window shopping on our budgets. On our last day, we took a leisurely visit to Versailles and toured the interior of the palace as well as the gardens. Even though the fountains were a let down (we were expecting Bellagio/Vegas entertainment), Versailles is absolutely amazing.
Our trip was so inspiring and so fun; every museum, garden, crêpe, baguette and glass of wine was so thoroughly enjoyed. The show filled our heads with inspiration and coming trends; look out for orange and pollen yellow in a room scene photo coming to you soon!
